Day 2 Highlights – National Disability Tenpin Bowling Championships

5 Jun 2025

Published by Sports 4 All – NSW’s State Sporting Organisation for People with Intellectual Disability

The National Disability Tenpin Bowling Championships in Perth continued with energy, achievement, and community connection as Sports 4 All athletes took to the lanes for Day 2 of the national event.

Despite a tough travel day—with flight delays, turbulence, and a bus closure—our team from Sports 4 All and 4titude arrived focused and excited to represent New South Wales in a national inclusive sporting competition.

Early Morning Standouts on the Lanes

The day began bright and early with the first squad—Jack, Oasis, and Harry—bowling at 8:00am. They quickly made their presence known with outstanding results.

  • Oasis bowled a 482 series, far above his average of 306, placing him at the top of his division.
  • Harry delivered an exceptional 187 game, showcasing talent and composure under pressure.

These performances are more than numbers—they reflect the power of inclusive sport and the role it plays in building confidence, routine, and social connection for people with disability.

Exploring Perth: Beyond the Bowling Alley

After their early success, the team returned to their accommodation for a quick refresh before heading to Kings Park. Overlooking the Perth skyline, the group enjoyed nature, friendship, and some well-earned downtime.

Moments like these are at the heart of what 4titude delivers: community access, travel, recreation, and social participation for people with disability. As an NDIS partner, 4titude provides tailored supports that empower individuals to thrive—on and off the field.

Evening Competition & Unstoppable Energy

Re-energised by a team dinner at The Morley Local—where schnitzel was the dish of the day—our bowlers returned to the venue for evening competition.

At 6:45pm, Oasis, Jack, Ian, Josh, and Katelyn stepped up for their second session. A special mention goes to Ian, who rolled a 186 game, a new personal best and a reflection of the dedication nurtured through inclusive programs like those at Sports 4 All.

The final session began at 8:30pm, with all athletes participating in singles matches. Games continued until nearly 11:00pm, closing out a full day of sport, growth, and achievement.

These championships highlight how NDIS-funded sport can empower people with disability to engage, develop, and shine on a national stage.
