Statement of Commitment to the Safety of Children & Young People

At Sports 4 All, our main goal is to make sure that the kids and young people we support feel safe, happy, and empowered whenever they’re with us. We’re registered with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and adhere to both the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the NSW Child Safe Standards, showing how serious we are about creating a safe and supportive environment for every child and young person we work with. Plus, we’re totally zero-tolerance when it comes to any abuse or violence towards children and young people.

Here’s what we’re all about:

Being Safe from the Top: We make sure that everyone in charge here always prioritises kids’ safety in everything we do.

Following the Rules: We’ve got a strict Code of Conduct for everyone who works with kids here. It’s all about being professional, respectful, and honest.

Creating Safe Spaces: We make sure that our places, both online and in person, are safe, friendly, and welcoming for kids with disabilities. We’re taking every possible measure to keep them safe and ensure everyone can navigate easily.

Respecting Everyone’s Needs: We honour different cultures and acknowledge each person’s unique experiences. We learn about the diverse backgrounds and personal journeys of everyone we support. By recognising these differences, we aim to make sure that everyone feels comfortable and understood. This involves paying attention to cultural traditions, significant life events, and past traumas. Creating a safe and welcoming space allows people to be themselves and receive support without feeling uneasy.

Spreading the Word and Keeping Everyone Safe: We’re all about making sure everyone – staff, volunteers, families, and kids – knows how to stay safe. We chat about it in our sessions and keep everyone in the loop about what’s important.

Keeping Kids in the Know: We understand that kids need information that’s easy for them to understand. We communicate with them about staying safe in a way that makes sense to them, so they know what to do if something doesn’t feel right.

Encouraging Kids to Speak Up: We want kids to feel comfortable speaking up if something’s wrong. We’ve got easy ways for them to tell us about what’s happening, and we promise to listen and take action.

Supporting Families: We’re here to support families too. We share information with them about keeping kids safe and help them feel confident about caring for their kids.

Training Our Team: Everyone who works here gets regular training on how to keep kids safe. We want to make sure that everyone is well-equipped to handle any situation and knows what to do.

Setting Clear Rules: We have clear rules and procedures in place to make sure that everyone knows how to keep kids safe. This includes everything from hiring new staff to reporting any concerns.

Continuous Improvement: We’re constantly evaluating our practices and seeking ways to improve. We ask for feedback from everyone involved so we can continue to enhance our approach and find ways we can do things even better, whether it’s how we talk to kids and families about safety or how we handle reports.

Talking to Kids and Families: We actively seek the input, feedback, and participation of kids and families in shaping their supports and check in to make sure that we’re meeting their expectations. This includes learning about the things that are unique or important to each person we work with. Based on their feedback, we make adjustments so we can better meet their needs and stay on the right track.

We understand that kids with disabilities have their own unique experiences and needs. That’s why we do things in a way that makes each and every kid feel valued, heard, and protected here at 4titude (Sports 4 All). Keeping them safe is our top priority, and we’re here to create an environment where every individual can feel secure, respected, and empowered to be themselves.

This is our promise to always prioritise kids’ safety and ensure they have everything they need to flourish.
